Very sorry to hear the sad news about Dave Greenfield. He was an amazing keyboard player and backbone of the Stranglers sound; it was refreshing to have keyboards upfront in a punk band. He was a good bloke and we got to know him after doing a big European tour with the Stranglers and many subsequent shows. RIP Dave - he will be sadly missed.

Martin Rushent (11th July 1948 - 4th June 2011)
Martin Rushent, who died on June 4 aged 62, was a British record producer whose technological advances shaped the sound of popular music in the 1970s and 1980s.
Born in Enfield, north London, on July 11 1948, Martin Charles Rushent pursued a career as a vocalist in a local group on leaving Michenden Grammar School in Southgate, Middlesex. A tryout for EMI in the demo studio at the record company's headquarters in Manchester Square, London, whetted Rushent's appetite for production. He experimented at home with a four-track reel-to-reel tape recorder bought by his father, a car salesman, and in the late Sixties landed a job as a projectionist at Advision Studios in central London.
Initially an unpaid and lowly tape-operator on evening sessions, Rushent gained experience working alongside the likes of Tony Visconti on tracks by T Rex, and had been promoted to head engineer by the time the company moved to impressive new premises in Whitfield Street. This contained a space large enough to house a full orchestra, so was much in demand from top-flight performers.
He worked on our first two albums 999 and Separates and also produced the singles Emergency, Me and My Desire, Feelin' Alright With The Crew and of course Homicide.
THANK YOU FOR THE MUSIC MARTIN

The venue for the gig on the 4th February has been changed from The Gaff to The Dome (Tufnell Park). There are also two new dates for your diary... on Friday 11th March at the Trades Club in Barnsley, and Saturday 12th March at Ye Olde Ram in Mansfield (daytime gig, 999 on at 2pm).
We have the first gigs for 2011 posted on the gigs page; on the 4th February there is a show at The Gaff on Holloway Road in London and also later in the year, on the 6th August, 999 are booked once again for the Rebellion Festival in Blackpool (complete with Nick's solo set).
I don't think there'll be any more news this year (but you never know!) so thanks to everyone for coming to see the band in 2010 and for those who missed them, there's always 2011. As usual, check the site for the latest news on tours, recordings etc. and have a great Christmas and New Year.
First announced gig of 2011 will be at the Rebellion festival on Saturday 6th August, although i've not heard if Nick will also be playing his solo spot (I would assume so).
Hopefully there will be many more gigs before (and after) August so keep checking the website and i'll let you know as soon as I hear anything.
It's a bit short notice but just a quick reminder to let you know that 999 are playing in Britol tonight with 2 other bands, The Lone Sharks and Bristol band The Pigs as part of the opening night of The Transmission Club. The Lone Sharks are on first and will be on stage probably around 9pm-ish.
Oops! we made a mistake. The gigs in Scotland had the wrong dates (although the actual days are correct) - for example we had Thursday 26th when it should have been the 25th.
The show on the 4th November has now been finalised; it's at the Maloe Mao in Amsterdam.
Last but not least, there's an extra show added for tonight at Friars in Aylesbury with the Buzzcocks and Eddie & the Hot Rods which sounds like a great night if you can get down there at such short notice.
The German / Netherlands tour dates have finally been announced; 16 dates in total so no excuse not to see the band if you live in Germany or the Netherlands. The gigs page has all the details so Google or call the venues for more details, times, tickets etc.
We have a load of new gigs coming up in November plus rumours of about 13 new shows in Germany later in the year; we don't have any details of those yet but I will let you know as soon as they are confirmed. As usual check out the gigs page for more details.
Rebellion Festival next week with 999 on Saturday! See you all there.
No cancelled, rescheduled or moved shows for once! Just more new shows in Spain and the UK for June, July and August. As always, check out the gigs page for more details.
Unfortunately the gigs in Doncaster (24th April) and Southampton (25th April) have had to be cancelled. Due to the disruption caused by the Volcano in Iceland and the cancellation of flights, Arturo is stuck in Berlin and can't get a flight back to the UK before the weekend. Nick tells me 999 considered playing without him but unfortunately he's also got the bands gear with him. I'll keep you posted if the gigs are rescheduled.
Nick tells me that the venue on Sunday 25th April at The Talking Heads has been changed to The Joiners Arms. It's still in Southampton and on the same date, so make sure you don't turn up at the wrong place. Also, if you know anyone who is going please let them know about the change. Ta!
We've got some more news about the gig in Bristol on the 4th April at the Bierkeller. The "Resurrection Festival" will be an add-day event featuring 999, Discharge, GBH, Goldblade and Templeton Pek; sounds like a great day out so get yerself down there.
There's a new show added at the King Edward VII in in Norwich on the 2nd April.
Quick update... The Talking Heads show in Southampton has been moved from Friday 23rd April to Sunday 25th April.
We've added four new shows for April in the UK and one in May for those of you in Spain. Details on the gigs page.
Another show has been added on Friday 26th February at The Brass Monkey in Hastings. Also, the show at the Blues Cafe in Rotherham on the 10th April has been moved; it's now at Live@Dickens (still in Rotherham).
2 more shows added in February; Bournemouth on Thursday the 25th and Windsor on Saturday the 27th.
Happy New Year and hope everyone didn't drink too much!
We've 3 new shows in February added to the gigs page; 2 in Scotland (Glasgow and Aberdeen) and one in Gateshead at the 3 Tuns. That's only a few weeks away so get your tickets booked ASAP.
Well it's another year over and time to look forward to 2010. It looks like there's going to be plenty of activity with tours planned for South America, Germany and the UK (see Nick's Christmas message on the home page for more details) and hopefully there'll be more dates in other countries soon for those of you who live further afield.
Thanks for all the emails and pictures everyone has sent in over the past 12 months and hopefully I'll get around to putting them up on the web site (eventually!).
Have a great Xmas and New Year and keep visiting the site for more news.
It's getting close to xmas and there's just one more gig this year in Germany. Not to worry, we've updated the gigs page and added 3 new shows for next year: London, Rotherham and of course the Rebellion Fetival in Blackpool. As usual Nick and Arturo will be performing solo.
Bad news for those of you in Sheerness, the gig on the 25th October has unfortunately has been cancelled.
It was great to see 999 at Blackpool and also have a few beers with a few of you. Nick played an excellent solo spot and 999 were, as usual, the best band at Blackpool; although I am slightly biased! Anyway, not much else to report but keep watching the web site for more dates later this year.
I know a few of you have been emailing asking about 999 playing in the USA and they have been busy trying to arrange dates for a tour, but unfortunately it's not going to happen this year. Nick tells me they'll try again next year so with a bit of luck you'll be able to see them play soon.
On brighter note (for those of us in the UK and Germany) there are a load of new dates in October (UK) and one in December (Germany). Check out the gigs page for more detail.
Rebellion Blackpool is almost upon us and you can see 999 and Nick's solo spot on the Saturday. Arturo will be playing with the Lurkers on Thursday night and also solo with his his Punktry and Western Bonanza on the Friday. As usual if anyone sees me there, I'll be glad to have a pint or three with them :-)
Unfortunately the show at the Super Rock, Buenos Aries, Argentina on Sunday 28th June has been cancelled. The good news is that there is an extra show on Friday 26th at the El Teatro, Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Good news for those of you in Barnsley - the show on the 19th June is back on after being reported as cancelled a couple of weeks ago and will take place at the Trades Club. Bad news for anyone who was planning to see 999 at the Kelsey Arms in Tunbridge Wells on the 6th June as this show has unfortunately been cancelled.
I've just heard from Arturo that the Rotherham gig venue on Saturday 25th April has changed; it's now at The Blues Cafe and not Dickens Bar. Tickets for the show in Perth at the Corrina on the 12th September can be ordered by calling direct on 01738 622201, or by calling Grouchos on 01382 228 496.
Also, there will be 2 new shows in Brazil & Argentina; on Saturday 27th June there is a gig at the Inferno Club, Sao Paulo, Brazil, and on Sunday 28th June at the Super Rock in Buenos Aries, Argentina. Both shows are with The Lurkers.
As 999 get ready to play their first shows in 2009 we have some more dates to add to your calendar. On 26th April there is the Vive Le Punk festival at The Assembly in Leamington Spa, whilst in September we have 2 new gigs; one at The Duke of Wellington in Lincoln on the 9th September, and one at the Three Tuns in Gateshead on the 13th September.
Bad news for those of you hoping to catch 999 in Barnsley on the 19th June - we've just heard that the gig has unfortunately been cancelled.
The gig in Barnsley on the 19th June is actually on the Friday and not Saturday as previously listed, oops! my mistake, and the venue in Perth on the 12th September has now been confirmed as the Corrina. Last but not least, two new gigs have been added: Edinburgh on the 11th September at the Citrus Club & Southampton on the 10th May at Talking Heads. As always, all gig dates are listed on the gigs page.
I hope everyone had a great Christmas and New Year. 2009 looks like being a busy year for 999, infact we just added a load of new gigs in April, May, June and September. More to follow, so keep checking the gigs page.
Just a quickie. Mark Southgate has pointed out that there is a gig at the Kelsey Arms in Tunbridge Wells on 6th June 2009.
The first dates of the 2009 Death In Soho tour have been added to the gigs page; no Manchester dates as yet, but I live in hope. I'll add more as and when I get them.
More information on the Death In Soho Vinyl 12" LP, it is on Papagajuv Hiastel Records, catalog number PH 083, and once again available from their web site here.
Someone recently requested the lyrics to Found Out Too Late and Lie Lie Lie and Nick has kindly supplied them. I'll get them posted in the next few days and let you know once they are on the web site.
Just 3 more gigs left to go before xmas; London, Mansfield and Leicester and then it's onward into 2009. As you will have read from Nick's message on the home page, 999 will be touring throughout 2009. Nick says "We are going to extend the Death In Soho tour through 2009 and have been offered shows in Norway, Germany and Brazil, so we're going for those plus of course we will do as much as we can in England.".
The Death in Soho album has now been released on vinyl; thanks to John Esplen at Overground Records for the link. Click the image below for more information...
For those you who don't have the DEATH IN SOHO album yet, now is a good time to get a copy for xmas. You can buy it at amazon.co.uk or Voiceprint if you are in the UK or from amazon.com if you live in the USA.
Also thanks to Mateus Mondini for posting some live pictures onto Flickr. Click here for the photos.
Last but not least, a big thanks to Andrew Ounsted who has sent me loads of pictures over the past few years; I keep promising to use them in a new gallery and hopefully I will get round to it early next year.
Merry Xmas...
More bad news, there's been another gig cancellation, this time the Speedfreaks Ball, Haven Holiday Center on Saturday 8th November; so if you have tickets, better go get your money back.
You may, or may not, have noticed that the web site has a new address. The old address at www.nineninenine.cjb.net was initially free, but as with anything free, it didn't last and the people who owned the name have, over the years, added such things as popup adverts etc. which I have had to pay to get removed. So I recently bought the not so different www.nineninenine.net address and have moved all files to my own server. You will still be able to get to the site using the old address but you may notice popup advertisements appearing on your desktop. Best thing to do is to bookmark the new web site.
Unfortunately the gig at the Green Room on Friday 7th November has been cancelled but I can confirm that 999 will be playing the Rebellion Festival in Blackpool in 2009. Nick tells me that 999 are one of only three bands to have done every event, this will make it 14 in total, the others being the Anti-Nowhere League and Splodge.
Did anyone notice the shirt Nick wore at the Rebellion Festival? well it was designed and handmade by the Racket Clothing Company. Click here to visit their web site.
The Death In Soho album will soon be available on 12 inch vinyl; so if you didn't buy the CD because you don't have a CD player then there's no excuse not to buy it on good ol' vinyl. Hopefully it will be available in time for xmas - i'll let you know where you can get a copy as soon as I find out.
Another gig has been added, this time at The Duchess of Edinburgh, Welling, Kent (with the Concrete Gods) on the 25th October.
Due to the massive number of spam emails to the 999 web site I have had to close the original email address and create a new one. The email account was receiving hundreds of offers a day to either increase my manhood or sell me Viagra or some other piece of shit which meant I couldn't keep track of the genuine emails. I've also encrypted the address so those nasty web spiders can't easily extract the new email address (and Arturo's) from the home page. If you've emailed in the past few months and not had any response, please try again and remember to use the new email address on the home page.
An additional gig, at the Royalty in Sunderland, has just been added to replace the cancelled gig in Glasgow on the 12th September.
Good news is that Arturo has recovered from his recent illness and back playing again. Nick tells me that 999 have been playing some great shows lately - "We had a great show in Norway last weekend. It was an outdoor Festival right on the banks of the fiord. The rain held off and we did a blinding set which the Exploited found very hard to follow". I saw them at Blackpool and both Nick's solo set and 999 were excellent... especially the songs from the new CD "Death In Soho".
More gigs have been added in September, November and December, but unfortunately the gig at Rockers in Glasgow on the 12th September has unfortunately been cancelled, so if you were planning on going and have tickets, you need to contact the venue for a refund.
Disaster has struck. Arturo is ill which means that the dates in Brazil have had to be cancelled as it was to be a two band package with the Lurkers. Fortunately the Dusseldorf and Milan gigs will still go ahead, albeit with Nick on bass for both shows. Let's hope Arturo is feeling better for the rest of the tour.
The gig on 30th May has now been confirmed at the Inferno Club, Sao Paulo and the venue for the gig on the 31st has been changed to the Hammar Rock Bar, Campinas; more information on the gigs page.
Nick tells me that the band have been very busy trying to get as many dates as possible to promote the new album Death in Soho and have just added new gigs in Brazil, Sweden, Italy and the Czech Republic; more information on the gigs page. Nick also says that they are playing quite a few tracks off the new album so try and go see them if you can - looks like it will be Blackpool before I get a chance this year.
The 'Death In Soho' tour continues with a string of new dates added to the gigs page.
There's also a new single out on Dr. Strange Records in the USA; the first 999 single in over 24 years no less. The A side is 'Gimme The World' from the album whilst the B side contains rough mixes of 'The System' and 'Stealing Beauty'. 100 copies are on black vinyl, 400 in splattered coloured vinyl and both versions come with a cotton silk screened patch.
Click here to visit the Dr. Strange web site.A new DVD is also available. NASTY TALES was recorded live The Forum, Darlington, in April 2005 and is available from www.amazon.co.uk in the UK, and will be available from www.amazon.com on the 18th March.
It's xmas day and almost another year over, and what a great year it has been for 999. Lots of gigs and Nick tells me the new album, Death In Soho, is selling really well. If you still haven't got yourself a copy yet then you can spend some of your xmas money at amazon.co.uk or from Voiceprint if you are in the UK (Voiceprint still have a number of signed copies if you buy now) or if you live in the USA you can get it from amazon.com.
Earlier this month Nick nipped over to Brazil to do a bit of promotional work for a possible tour next May. The promoters assembled a "House Band" and Nick played guitar and sang six 999 songs with them. Here are links to some of those songs:
Homicide: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j-sE_jtu0G8
Nasty Nasty: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DDGBdIZK7NQ
Im Alive: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9j_m_fcPZQ4
The Death In Soho tour continues into 2008 with some new gigs added and more to be added as soon as I get the details. Don't forget to keep checking the gigs page for more details.
Well that's all for this year so have a great New Year and keep checking the web site.
Unfortunately the gig at the Attic in Rushden on the 17th October has had to be cancelled.
Well the new album, DEATH IN SOHO, is finally out and available in the shops. If you don't already have a copy, then there's no excuse not to buy at copy - you can buy it on amazon.co.uk or from Voiceprint if you are in the UK (Voiceprint still have a number of signed copies if you buy now) or amazon.com if you live in the USA.
The gig at Rock City in Nottingham has been moved from Sunday the 14th October to Thursday 18th October. 999 will now be playing at the Junction in Bristol on Sunday 14th October. There's also an extra date added for the 17th October at West Riding, Huddersfield. See the gig page for more details.
Bad news: The gig at the Brief in Croydon on 27th October has unfortunately been cancelled.
Good news: An extra gig at Rock City in Nottingham on 18th October with the Anti-Nowhere League has been added.
Also added a small video of Kilburn & The High Roads featuring a young looking Nick on guitar.
Tickets for the Brighton gig at the Engine Room on 28th September are now available from Ticketweb online. Click here for more details
A limited edition of 100 fully signed copies of the forthcoming album by 999 'Death In Soho' is available exclusively from Voiceprint distribution for just 9.89. You can order it directly from this link: http://www.voiceprint.co.uk/web/Release/OVER119VPCD/
Well the first ever 999 newsletter was sent out just over a week ago to over 700 of you lucky people. It's taken over a year to get one sorted and in order to get the next one out soooon I need some response from YOU, so send those emails and let me know what I should be putting in the next newsletter. Newsletter #2 should hit your inboxes around the beginning of September when I'll have more details and links to where you can buy the new album 'Death in Soho'.
If you are lucky enough to see them before the 24th September release, ask Nick nicely and he might sell you a pre-release copy - he'll even autograph it for you.
The Blackpool Rebellion gig went down well. 2 new songs - 'The System' and 'Bomb You' - from the new album 'Death In Soho' were played for the first time ever ever ever!! and Guy tells me they intend to play a few more from the new album later this year, so there's no reason not to go see them.
Who was that boozed up geezer in the flat cap from Norway???? If it was you, I hope you enjoyed the music - if you can remember it :-)
I've updated the Links page. A few of the links were broken so I removed them, and I added a link to the Secret Records web site. These people are the ones who recently recorded 999 for a new DVD and have been promising a release for way too long, so send them an email and ask when it will be released.
Last but not least, I've added a video page where you can watch the original Homicide and Emergency videos as well as some clips from last weeks Rebellion Festival plus lots more. The quality is not great on some of the vids but it 'aint my fault, so don't complain to me. If anyone knows of any more vids out there, let me know.
CLICK HERE TO WATCH THE VIDEOS
Quick update. The gig at the Waterfront in Norwich has been moved to Wednesday 10th October (was Sunday 14th October) and features the Anti-Nowhere League.
Exciting news... the new album is ready and will be released on 24th September. It's called "Death In Soho" and contains the following tracks:
Gimme The World/ The System/ Innocent/ Last Breath/ 99 Days/ Rock n Roll World/ Get Off The phone/ Horror Story/ Stealing Beauty/ What Do You Know/ Deep Peace/ Too Much Money/ Life Of Crime/ The Avenue/ Bomb You
I'll post more details about where you can buy the CD nearer the time, so get saving those pennies!
More exciting news... i've added a bunch of new gigs to the gigs page and Nick tells me they might playing a few of the tracks from new CD at the gigs, so get down and go see them. I'll be there at the Blackpool Rebellion festival as usual. On Friday at 10:10am you can see Arturo's Punktry and Western Bonanza acoustic set, then, on Saturday, 999 are on at 4:50pm, Nick's solo spot is at 7pm and The Lurkers (with Arturo) at 8:55pm. See you there.
Well it's the end of February and I've only just updated the web site; nearly 4 months since the last update! - what a lazy b*****d I am. Anyway, there's a few gigs coming up and the annual outing to Blackpool punk festival, now renamed Rebellion, to look forward to, so get down there at the front and support your favourite band.
Best news of all is the announcement that there will be an album of new songs later this year. Nick tells me they have been busy writing new songs and will hopefully be recording in May with a release date late summer - hopefully we'll get to hear some of the new songs live soon. Also, there are plans for a 999 DVD with interviews etc. I'll keep you informed as and when I hear anything and we might even persuade the band to let us include some samples of the new songs on the site.
The bad news is that the gig at the Forum in Kentish Town has been cancelled due to sickness within the Members ranks. Nick says it is a big blow to the 30th Anniversary tour but will try and fill the date if possible, so keep watching the web site.
The good news is that there are 2 new dates added to the tour. On Saturday 16th they play at the Roundhause in Bolton, and on Sunday 17th they play at the Rock City in Nottingham.
Another new date for the tour... this time in Reading at the Fez club on the 14th December. Also, Nick tells me that 999 are negotiating with Darren to play Blackpool next summmer at the new Rebellion festival (formerly Wasted).
Big apologies for the popups and adverts that are plaguing the web site at the moment - every year we get held to ransom and have to pay for them to be removed, so money has exchanged hands and we should be rid of them hopefully in the next few days.
New date added in Derbyshire at Lumb Farm in Marehey, Ripley. Be there!
Unfortunately the gig at the Jaihouse in Coventry on Wednesday has been cancelled. Nick and the band are sorry to let everyone down but the promoter has pulled out at the last minute and left the band with nowhere to play.
On a brighter note, Wasted will be back next year, albeit under a new name - Rebellion. Check out the web site here for more details. Also, a new gig in London on the 15th December with The Members (one off reform) and Chelsea.
Well the last Wasted Festival has been and gone, and my head/hangover has just about cleared. 999 had a great reception with probably the biggest crowd i've seen them play in front of (infact I couldn't get down to the front it was so packed). Nick's solo spot was also excellent - just Nick on his own playing lots of 999 stuff that they haven't or don't play live; one of these days i'm sure he'll get it recorded and released on CD. We can only live in hope.
The next leg of the 30th Anniversary tour kicks off on the 6th October in Edinburgh at the Citrus Club so try and catch them on at least one of the dates.
The gig in Southampton on the 10th October now has a venue! It will be at the Joiners Arms. Also, the cancelled Witchwood gig on Friday 13th October has now been rescheduled and will be at Rio's in Bradford.
Unfortunately the promoter who booked shows for the Witchwood Tavern in Ashton-Under-Lyme has retired so the gig on the 13th October has been cancelled - Nick says that the band will do their best to fill the date with another gig (hopefully in or near Manchester 'cause that's were I live). Good news is that 3 new gigs have been added; Sunday 20th August sees the band in Italy playing at the Festa Di Radio Onda D'Urto in Brescia, 10th October in Southampton (venue to be announced soon) and 11th October at the Jailhouse in Coventry. I'll update the site as soon as I have more news on the Southampton gig.
Well it's only a couple of weeks to go before the last ever Wasted Festival in Blackpool. 999 are due onstage on Saturday at 7pm in the Empress Ballroom, followed by Nick's solo set at 9:55pm in the Pavillion (acoustic stage). Also Arturo will be playing on Sunday with the Lurkers at 2:55pm in the Empress Ballroom and at 4:40pm for his solo set as Arturo Lurler's Punktry and Western Lark in the Pavillion (acoustic stage).
As always if you see me say hello and buy me a pint... :-)
Quick update... the gig on the 7th October is now conformed at the Barfly in Glasgow.
I've just had an email from Nick who tells me "999 have had a few good gigs on our 30th anniversary tour which has gone very well so far. In Darlington, which was fortunately sold out, we recorded a film quality DVD for release in the future. It will contain interviews with the band and interviews a couple of big 999 fans." Something to look forward to eh?
There have also been a few changes to the dates on the tour: the date in Brighton has been moved forward from 21st October to 4th August, Bedford on 24th June should be The Angel not the Old Angel as previously listed, and the Exeter gig at the Zephyr Club on 22nd June has been changed to Matthews Hall in Topsham (near Exeter). Hope the changes doesn't mean anyone misses seeing 999.
999 are putting together their 30th Anniversary tour. Check out the latest Gigs page for more details. Please remember to contact the venues in advance to confirm.
More gigs added for the UK. See the Latest Gigs page for details.
Happy New Year to everyone. Not much to report for this year yet, apart from the 2 dates in Germany and Switzerland; check the Latest Gigs page for more details. We will hopefully be adding more dates soon, so keep checking back to the web site for more details. On a sad note, it looks like the end of the road for the Holidays In The Sun/Wasted Festivals as the organisers have decided to call it a day after this year - Click here for the official press release. Make sure you get down to see 999 as well as Nick and Arturo solo.
1st October, 2005
3 new
dates added for November and December. I've also made it easier to check out the latest gigs. The gigs page now displays the Latest Gigs and has a link to a new page, Gig History which lists all previous gigs. The Gig History page still needs some work but i'll hopefully get around to it before xmas.
For all those people sick of seeing popup adverts when viewing this web site, you'll be please to know that I've paid off those nasty people who own the web space (no expense spared) so that you will never again be troubled by annoying adverts.
16th July, 2005
New dates added for the Norwegian tour. See the gigs page for more details.
999 will be playing at the Fury Festival in Le Mans, France. The line up includes Motorhead, Exploited, Toy Dolls, plus many more, so if you live across the channel get yourself down there...
Unfortunately the 2 gigs in June, announced earlier this week, have been cancelled. Good news is that there is a gig for those of you living in Prague on Saturday, 6th August.
Nick says that the tour last month, including Paris, Vienna and Koln, went very well and the band are hoping to do a tour of Norway in October later this year. Keep checking the web site for more details.
Some new dates added for June, and don't forget to say hello at WASTED.
Sounds like the Manchester gig with the Buzzcocks went down well. Nick says "Our show with the Buzzcocks in Manchester was really great and was sold out, hopefully the promoter will do another one next year.". I missed the gig, but hopefully i'll catch it next year.
The German tour, together with some new dates in Austria and the UK have been added to the gigs page. Nick and Arturo will both be playing solo sets at this years WASTED festival; last year they were both well worth seeing, so make a point of getting to the festival if you can.
Well i've been a lazy git for the past few months, so here at last (although very late) is some news. The Morecambe Wasted festival was excellent as always, and even included Nick and Arturo doing a solo set each; Arturo entertained us with some of his country and western ditties, whilst Nick played an amazing set of 999 songs that don't usually make it to the live gigs. 999 were, as always, the best band playing and even included some aerobatics from Nick as he negotiated a stray pint of beer thrown on the stage. Expect pictures of Nick, Arturo and 999 from Morecambe soon.
On the gig front 999 are playing a number of dates in October, November and December, in the UK as well as Europe; Poland and Germany. Check out the gigs page for more details.
Nothing released lately, apart from an excellent live 999 DVD from 1987 (although the sleeve says 1984) with Danny on Bass.
Available from Amazon.co.uk in the UK or amazon.com in the US.
First news of the new year is the tour starting soooon. Check out the gigs page for more details and if you're at the Manchester gig, see you there... Well if you didn't already know, the CONCRETE CD has been released on Oi records complete with additional tracks: Change / Lie Lie Lie (Live) / Wait For Your Number / I Ain't Gonna Tell Ya (Live) / Indian Reservation / So Greedy (Re-mix) / Wild Sun / Scandal In The City. Click here for more details. Also, EMI re-released 999 and Separates on one CD last year; Click here to get your hands on a copy. We've added more lyrics to the, errrm, lyrics page, so there's no excuse for not singing along when you see them next. Last but not least, 2004 should see 999 touring the U.S. Mid-West & California in May with the Lurkers (all being well) - i'll keep you up-to-date about this as and when I hear anything.
Good news! There's a new CD released today, 'Outburst' on Overground records; for more details click here. We've also started a List Server to keep all crew members updated with the latest 999 news via email. Drop me an email at 999 Crew List and let me know if you want to be informed of all the latest news, pics, rumours etc. as they happen.
Last but not least, there's an unconfirmed rumour that 999 will soon be in the studio recording a new CD for release in the new year. Let's hope it's true !
No new gigs to report but I have a load of pics and links I need to upload when I get the time. There's a new Lurkers web site at The Lurkers which is worth checking out because, well, Billy told me it was :-)
It's the last ever punk festival in Morecambe on the 20th, 21st and 22nd (Fri, Sat, Sun). 999 will be playing on the Saturday so hopefully see you there.... There's rumours of gigs in Warsaw in September and the USA in October - will let you know as soon as I hear anything definite.

First of all, there's a UK tour in March and a tour of the USA lined up for April (checkout the gigs page for more details). We've also fixed the links and added more lyrics, so you can sing along, to the lyrics page (big thanks to Nick Cash).
There's also new links to the 999 Fact File and 999 Biography added on the main page.
